Maldon bin collections
Maldon's garden bin gets emptied weekly from March to November, dropping to fortnightly over the winter. The grey bin and the pink recycling sacks are fortnightly, and food goes every week.
Which bin is which in Maldon
Pink sacks take your recycling, with no limit on how many you put out, and three rolls are delivered each summer. Glass bottles and jars go in the blue box. Extra bags next to the grey bin aren't taken. Containers out by 7am, but not before the evening before.
Garden waste: £75 a year
£75 for 2026/27, and new subscribers pay £38 for the bin on top (the same as a replacement for a lost one). If collections pause over Christmas, you get an extra one in February.
Weekly food waste collection
Weekly, in the food waste caddy.
Report a missed bin
Phone 01621 854477 within 48 hours of the scheduled collection. If the bin was out by 7am and wasn't contaminated, the crew returns within three working days.

Get told the night before
Binformation is a free Android app. Put your postcode in once and it sends a notification the evening before each collection, saying which bins are going. If the council moves your day for a bank holiday, the reminder moves with it.
