Herefordshire bin collections

Herefordshire still has no food waste collection. It was due in March 2026, slipped, and the timeline Cabinet approved in July 2026 now puts weekly kerbside food collections at September or October 2027. Until then it's two bins on alternate weeks.

Which bin is which in Herefordshire

Recycling goes in the green bin or clear sacks, general waste in the black bin or black sacks. Get them out by 6.30am, and don't bother with extra bags beside the bin: side waste isn't collected.

Garden waste: £60 a year

If you sign up after 1 October 2026 it's £30 for the rest of the year to 31 March 2027, plus a £10 delivery charge. You can have a 240 litre brown bin or four 60 litre sacks, and collections run all year apart from a two-week pause over Christmas. Renewal comes round by direct debit each February.

Food waste collections due from September 2027

Not collected yet. The current plan is weekly kerbside collections from September or October 2027.

Report a missed bin

Check your neighbours first. If their bins are still out too, the crew is probably just running late, as collections can happen any time from 6.30am. The online form won't take a report until the crew has been past your property, or if they've logged a problem with your bin on their in-cab device.

Binformation is a free Android app. Put your postcode in once and it sends a notification the evening before each collection, saying which bins are going. If the council moves your day for a bank holiday, the reminder moves with it.
