Gwynedd bin collections
The green wheelie bin in Gwynedd is emptied once every three weeks, which is a long wait if you miss it. Recycling is the weekly job: the blue cartgylchu box and the brown food bin both go every week. Crews can turn up any time between 6am and 6pm, so the council asks for bins out the night before.
Which bin is which in Gwynedd
Green wheelie bin for rubbish, or up to three black sacks if you don't have a wheelie bin. Recycling goes in the blue cartgylchu box. Nappy and clinical waste collections are subscription only.
Garden waste: £41 a year
£41 for the 2026 service, which started the week of 26 January and runs to the end of November or early December, 22 collections in all. Extra brown bins are £34 each, up to four per house. You use your own bin: no new bin comes, just a sticker in the post once you've paid. The 2027 order form isn't open yet.
Weekly food waste collection
Every week, in the brown food waste bin. Any of the recycling centres will take food waste too.
Report a missed bin
Collections run from 6am to 6pm and the time can change from week to week. Check your calendar, and look for a sticker in the bin or box explaining why it was left, before you report.

Get told the night before
Binformation is a free Android app. Put your postcode in once and it sends a notification the evening before each collection, saying which bins are going. If the council moves your day for a bank holiday, the reminder moves with it.
