Renfrewshire bin collections

Since Monday 7 September 2026, Renfrewshire has been on new collection schedules. If you're still going by an older calendar, check your days again.

Two bin days for most homes

The September change gave most Renfrewshire homes two collection days: recycling on one, the grey bin on another. How often each bin goes hardly changed. If you added the old schedule to a phone calendar, download the iCal file again, because the old one still shows the old days.

Food waste collection

Food goes in the brown bin, or an outdoor caddy, if your property is on a food waste route. The permit is only needed for garden waste. The kitchen caddy is free and you get a year's liners.

Report a missed bin

Don't report it until after 6.30pm on collection day, then you've got two days (14 if you get assisted bin help).

Get told the night before

Binformation is a free Android app. Put your postcode in once and it sends a notification the evening before each collection, saying which bins are going. If the council moves your day for a bank holiday, the reminder moves with it.
