Friday 27 November 2026 is the last free garden waste collection of the season in Merthyr Tydfil, with sacks back out from Monday 29 March 2027. The service uses reusable green sacks and takes up to nine bags at a time. Out of season, Dowlais and Aberfan recycling centres still take garden waste.

Garden waste collection

Fortnightly from April to November, usually on the same day as your wheeled bin but the opposite week. Order up to six sacks at a time, and put out no more than nine bags per collection. Trees, branches and bigger loads can go on the chargeable bulky green waste collection. Dowlais and Aberfan recycling centres take garden waste all year.
