Dudley bin collections
Since April 2026 Dudley has run a new scheme: the black bin and the blue recycling bin are emptied on alternate weeks, and a weekly food caddy has been added. Some households had their collection day moved at the same time, so it's worth checking yours. Crews work 6am to 2pm.
Which bin is which in Dudley
The blue 240 litre bin takes cans, plastic, glass and cartons, and paper and card go in blue bags. Put bins out by 6am on collection day, but not before 7.30pm the evening before.
Garden waste: £52 a year
£52 for 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, the same as last year. That buys 50 weeks of fortnightly collections, with a two-week break over Christmas and New Year. Pay by card online or on 0300 555 2345, then allow up to 10 working days for the permit. Loose garden waste only.

Weekly, in the grey outdoor caddy with a lockable lid. Most flats and communal bins aren't on the food service yet.
Report a missed bin
Report from 4pm on collection day until 4pm the next working day. Assisted collections can be reported until 4pm two working days later, and missed garden waste is collected within seven working days of your report.

Bulky waste collection from £33.22
Prices go by points: up to 10 points is £33.22, 11 to 20 is £57.09, 21 to 30 is £83.04 and 31 to 40 is £119.37. White goods are £16.61 for small and £33.22 for large, but fridges and freezers aren't being collected at the moment.

The recycling centre on Birmingham Street in Stourbridge is booking only, and it isn't taking fridges, freezers or other cooling appliances until further notice.

Get told the night before
Binformation is a free Android app. Put your postcode in once and it sends a notification the evening before each collection, saying which bins are going. If the council moves your day for a bank holiday, the reminder moves with it.
