Cheshire East bin collections
Big change coming. From early 2027 the black bin in Cheshire East drops to once every three weeks, and weekly food waste collections start alongside it, so your bin day may move. Every household gets a 23 litre outdoor caddy delivered, but don't put it out until the service actually starts.
Which bin is which in Cheshire East
Until the switch, the black bin alternates with the silver recycling bin on a two-week cycle. Food waste starts in phases over two weeks, and there's nothing to sign up for.
Garden waste: £74 a year
£74 per bin for the 2027 calendar year, or £55.50 if you get a qualifying benefit. The price is the same whenever you join, and each bin needs its own subscription. Stick the sticker on the handle side of the bin, put it out by 6.30am, and expect no collections from mid-December to mid-January.

Worth knowing in Cheshire East
There are no collections on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year's Day, and the online calendar is updated before those dates. Every other bank holiday runs as normal.
Get told the night before
Binformation is a free Android app. Put your postcode in once and it sends a notification the evening before each collection, saying which bins are going. If the council moves your day for a bank holiday, the reminder moves with it.
