Burnley bin collections

Burnley's bin lorries carry 360 degree cameras, and they're used to check where you've left your bin. So put it out properly, by 6.30am. Food waste joined the round in April 2026 and goes weekly, on the same day as your other bins.

Weekly food waste collection

Weekly since the week of 13 April 2026. Liners are delivered twice a year, so you shouldn't need to buy your own.

Report a missed bin

You can't log it on collection day itself. Report within six days of the scheduled date, and allow up to two working days for the crew to come back. Missed garden bins are picked up the following Friday.

Get told the night before

Binformation is a free Android app. Put your postcode in once and it sends a notification the evening before each collection, saying which bins are going. If the council moves your day for a bank holiday, the reminder moves with it.
