Purple is for rubbish in Angus. Grey takes plastics, cans and cartons, blue takes paper and card, and the green garden bin gets its last lift of the year on 27 November 2026, with no collections again until early February.
Which bin is which in Angus
General waste goes out in the purple sacks. Have everything out by 7am.
Garden waste: £55 a year
£55 per bin per year, and you'll need the sticker on the bin before the crew will take it. There's no December or January collection and no refund for part years. Some rural areas don't get the service at all.
Food waste collection
The brown caddy is collected in towns, villages and a lot of countryside areas, but not everywhere. Your calendar tells you if your address is on the round.
Report a missed bin
Report it within two working days of the collection day. For a missed garden bin, the crew should be back within two working days in towns and three in rural areas.
Bulky waste collection from £37.30
£37.30 for up to three items, then £11.50 for each extra one. The limit is 20 items.

Get told the night before
Binformation is a free Android app. Put your postcode in once and it sends a notification the evening before each collection, saying which bins are going. If the council moves your day for a bank holiday, the reminder moves with it.
